Chainlinked

Chainlinked is a term used to describe data, assets, or processes that are bound to a blockchain through a sequence of cryptographic links. In this sense, something chainlinked derives its provenance and integrity from the chain of blocks that records transactions and state changes. Each block contains the hash of the previous block and a Merkle root of its transactions, creating an immutable ledger whose history is verifiable.

Applications of chainlinked concepts include on-chain data integrity, supply chain traceability, notarization, and smart contract state anchoring. Chainlinked data supports auditability and non-repudiation, because alterations must propagate through the chain and be validated by consensus. In many designs, chainlinked elements are involved in cross-chain verifications or oracle integrations, where external information is anchored into the blockchain via cryptographic links to trusted sources.

Notes: The spelling chainlinked is sometimes used informally to refer to Chainlink, the decentralized oracle network, but Chainlink is a distinct project with its own protocol and token. The term chainlinked, when used in technical writing, is generally treated as a descriptor of linkage to a blockchain rather than a brand name.
