CenturyLink
CenturyLink, Inc., later rebranded as Lumen Technologies, was a major American telecommunications company that provided voice, data, and broadband services to consumers and businesses. It originated as Century Telephone Enterprises, founded in 1968 to operate small local telephone exchanges in the United States. Through a series of acquisitions, most notably the 2009 purchase of Embarq and the 2011/2017 acquisition of Level 3 Communications, CenturyLink expanded into long-haul fiber networks and IP-based services, enlarging its enterprise and wholesale capabilities. In 2010 the company adopted the CenturyLink name for its consumer and business services; in 2017 it completed the Level 3 acquisition, creating one of the largest telecom networks in North America.
In 2020 CenturyLink rebranded corporate operations as Lumen Technologies, while the CenturyLink brand continued to be
