Celsiusskalaen
Celsiusskalaen, or the Celsius scale, is a widely used temperature scale named after the Swedish astronomer Anders Celsius. In 1742 he proposed a centigrade scale for measuring temperature. He initially defined the scale with 0 degrees at the boiling point of water and 100 degrees at the freezing point, but after his death the scale was inverted to its current convention: 0 degrees lowest, 100 degrees highest for water under standard atmospheric pressure.
