Celledestruksjon

Celledestruksjon refers to the process by which a cell is damaged or destroyed. This can occur through a variety of mechanisms, both internal and external to the cell. Internally, programmed cell death, known as apoptosis, is a natural and controlled process essential for development and tissue homeostasis. In apoptosis, the cell systematically dismantles itself without causing inflammation. Necrosis, on the other hand, is typically a result of injury or disease, leading to uncontrolled cell death and the release of cellular contents, which can trigger an inflammatory response.

External factors that can cause celledestruksjon include physical trauma, extreme temperatures, radiation, toxins, and pathogens like viruses and bacteria. For example, a sharp object can physically rupture cell membranes, leading to immediate destruction. High fever can denature essential cellular proteins, rendering the cell non-functional and leading to its demise.
