Castellón

Castellón is a province of Spain, located in the eastern part of the country and part of the autonomous community of Valencia. Its capital is the city of Castellón de la Plana. The province is bordered by the provinces of Tarragona to the north, Teruel to the west, and Valencia to the south. To the east, it faces the Mediterranean Sea.

The geography of Castellón is varied, featuring a coastal plain along the Mediterranean that gives way to mountainous terrain inland. The Sierra de Espadán and the Penyagolosa massif are notable mountain ranges. The province has a Mediterranean climate, characterized by hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. The Ebro Delta is located to the north of the province.

The provincial capital, Castellón de la Plana, is a vibrant city with a historic center, a modern university, and a port. Other notable towns include Villarreal, known for its football club and ceramics industry, and Benicarló, a coastal town with a historic castle. The province is a popular destination for both beach holidays and rural tourism.
