Carathéodoy

Carathéodory is a mathematical concept primarily associated with convex geometry and topology. It refers to a theorem and a related concept named after the Greek mathematician Constantin Carathéodory.

The Carathéodory's Theorem, in its simplest form, states that if a point is in the convex hull of a set of points in Euclidean space of dimension $d$, then that point can be expressed as a convex combination of at most $d+1$ points from the original set. This theorem is fundamental in understanding the structure of convex sets and has applications in optimization and approximation theory. It implies that any point within a large collection of points can be "represented" by a much smaller subset of those points, specifically one whose size is bounded by the dimension of the space plus one.
