Calimani
The Calimani Mountains are a mountain range in Romania, located in the northeastern part of the Eastern Carpathians. They are part of the volcanic chain of the Carpathians and are characterized by their distinctive rounded peaks and volcanic origins. The highest peak in the Calimani Mountains is Pietrosul, reaching an elevation of 2,102 meters. The range is known for its rich biodiversity, including a variety of flora and fauna adapted to the mountain environment. Forests, primarily coniferous and mixed, cover much of the lower slopes, giving way to alpine meadows at higher altitudes.
Geologically, the Calimani Mountains are composed mainly of volcanic rocks, with evidence of past volcanic activity
