CMCled

CMCled refers to a type of organic light-emitting diode (OLED) technology developed by Universal Display Corporation. It stands for "Phosphorescent OLED" and is a key component in many modern displays. Unlike fluorescent OLEDs, phosphorescent OLEDs can utilize both singlet and triplet excitons, theoretically achieving 100% internal quantum efficiency. This means that for every electron-hole pair that recombines, a photon of light is emitted. This higher efficiency translates into brighter displays, lower power consumption, and longer lifespan compared to older OLED technologies.

The development of CMCled has been instrumental in the widespread adoption of OLED technology in consumer electronics such as smartphones, televisions, and smartwatches. The ability to create vivid colors and deep blacks with excellent contrast ratios has made CMCled-based displays highly desirable. Universal Display Corporation holds patents on this technology and licenses it to display manufacturers.
