CHAdeMOliittimiä
CHAdeMOliittimiä refers to the CHAdeMO connector, a direct current (DC) fast charging connector for electric vehicles (EVs). Developed by the Japanese automotive industry association and partners, the CHAdeMO standard was first released in 2009. It is widely used in Japanese EV models, including Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid, Honda Clarity PHEV, and Nissan Leaf (earlier iterations). The connector operates at 400 V and supports power outputs of up to 50 kW or higher, enabling rapid battery charging. Over time, the standard evolved—such as with CHAdeMO 2.0—to enhance power capacity and compatibility. While initially tailored for Japanese vehicles, some international EVs also support CHAdeMO, though its prevalence remains strongest in the Japanese EV ecosystem.
