CFD refers to a Contract for Difference. A CFD is a derivative financial instrument that allows traders to speculate on the price movements of underlying assets without owning the asset itself. The underlying assets can include stocks, indices, commodities, currencies, and cryptocurrencies. When trading CFDs, two parties agree to exchange the difference in the value of an asset between the time the contract is opened and when it is closed. If the price moves in the trader's favor, they receive the difference from the seller. If the price moves against them, they pay the difference to the seller.
