CFClainsäädäntö refers to legislation and regulations pertaining to chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and their use. These substances, once widely used in refrigerants, aerosols, and solvents, were found to be highly detrimental to the Earth's ozone layer. The depletion of the ozone layer, which protects life on Earth from harmful ultraviolet radiation, led to international concern and action.

The most significant international agreement addressing CFCs is the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer, adopted in 1987. This protocol, and subsequent amendments, established a framework for phasing out the production and consumption of ozone-depleting substances, including CFCs. Nations that are parties to the protocol are obligated to implement national legislation to comply with these international commitments.

In practice, CFClainsäädäntö involves a range of measures. These can include bans or strict limitations on the import and export of CFCs, regulations on their use in specific applications, requirements for the safe handling, recovery, and disposal of equipment containing CFCs, and measures to promote the development and use of alternative substances. The goal of this legislation is to protect the ozone layer and, by extension, human health and the environment.
