Bunlara

Bunlara is a Turkish demonstrative pronoun in the dative case, meaning “to these” or “for these.” It is formed from bunlar (these) plus the dative suffix -a, with vowel harmony yielding bunlara. This form functions as an indirect object or recipient in a sentence and is used with verbs that take a dative object or after prepositions that require the dative.

In usage, bunlara marks the person or group receiving an action. It can appear after verbs such as vermek (to give), yardım etmek (to help), or sunmak (to present), or after the preposition için when indicating the intended recipient: “Bu kitap bunlara verildi” (This book was given to these people).

Examples:

- Bu kitap bunlara verildi. (This book was given to these people.)

- Bunlara yardım edin. (Please help these people.)

- Bu projeyi bunlara sunun. (Present this project to these people.)

Distinctions: bunlara is distinct from bunlar (these) as the demonstrative pronoun, and from bunlarla (with these) or bunlarda (in these). Bunlara is the dative counterpart to bunları, the accusative form used for direct objects when referring to these items. The form is commonly used with pronoun phrases and noun phrases alike.
