BruntVäisäläfrekvensen
The Brunt-Väisälä frequency, also known as the buoyancy frequency, is a fundamental concept in fluid dynamics and atmospheric science. It describes the natural oscillation frequency of a parcel of fluid that has been displaced vertically from its equilibrium position within a stratified fluid. In simpler terms, it quantifies how quickly a blob of water or air would bob up and down if it were slightly pushed up or down from where it normally sits, assuming it returns to its original density.
This frequency is determined by the density stratification of the fluid and the acceleration due to gravity.
