Bremserør

Bremserør, also known as brake lines or brake hoses, are essential components of a vehicle's braking system. They are responsible for transporting brake fluid from the master cylinder to the brake calipers or wheel cylinders. This fluid pressure is what actuates the braking mechanism, causing the vehicle to slow down or stop.

There are two main types of bremserør: rigid metal tubing and flexible rubber or braided steel hoses. Rigid metal tubing is typically used for the majority of the brake line length, running from the master cylinder towards the wheels. These lines are durable and can withstand the pressures involved in braking.

Flexible hoses are used at the points where the rigid tubing connects to the moving parts of the suspension and braking system, such as at the wheels. These flexible sections allow for the necessary movement of the suspension and steering without stressing or breaking the rigid lines. They are designed to be resistant to heat, ozone, and abrasion.

The proper functioning of bremserør is critical for vehicle safety. Wear and tear, corrosion, or damage to these lines can lead to a loss of brake fluid, resulting in a spongy brake pedal or complete brake failure. Regular inspection and maintenance of brake lines are therefore highly recommended as part of a vehicle's routine service.
