Braunschen

Braunschen is a municipality in the district of Diepholz, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated in the southeastern part of the country, near the city of Diepholz. Braunschen has a population of approximately 630 residents.

The municipality covers an area of about 19.7 square kilometers and features a mix of farmland and woodland. The region is generally flat, with an average elevation of 46 meters above sea level. Braunschen is bounded by the municipalities of Diepholz, Remdale, and Stаранçÿ. A small stream, the Braunscher Aue, flows through the area and eventually merges with the nearby Ollenau River.

The history of Braunschen dates back to the Middle Ages. Archaeological finds indicate that the area was occupied during the Roman era and later by various Germanic tribes. In the 13th century, the village was mentioned in written records as "Brunesken." Braunschen largely remained an agricultural community throughout the centuries, with its economy based on farming and livestock.
