Chadwick Boseman (1976–2020) was an American actor and producer who gained international recognition for portraying T’Challa, the superhero Black Panther, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He also starred in films such as 42 (2013), Get on Up (2014), and Marshall (2017). Born in Anderson, South Carolina, Boseman earned a B.A. from Howard University and an M.F.A. from the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television. He passed away from colon cancer in 2020 at the age of 43.

Boseman’s work was widely acclaimed, and his portrayal of Black Panther became a cultural milestone within contemporary cinema. He received numerous awards and nominations during his career, including a posthumous Academy Award nomination for Best Actor for Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom (2020), recognizing his final film performance.
