Boratebased

Boratebased refers to materials and compounds that incorporate borate units, typically derived from boric acid or boron oxide, in which boron–oxygen groups (BO3 and BO4) form structural motifs and networks. These materials include mineral borates, borate glasses, borate-based polymers, and inorganic salts containing borate groups. In such systems, boron centers can be trigonal or tetrahedral, linking with oxygen to create three- or four-coordinate borate units that connect to form chains, rings, clusters, or extended networks. The presence of metal cations or organic moieties can stabilize the networks and tune properties like durability, melting temperature, and solubility.
