Boole
George Boole (1815–1864) was an English mathematician and logician who founded Boolean algebra, the algebraic approach to logic that uses binary values to model truth. His work established that logic could be treated with algebra and that logical propositions could be manipulated using mathematical laws. Boolean algebra is a foundational element of modern digital electronics and computer science.
Life and work: Boole was born in Lincoln, England, into a working-class family and largely educated himself
Contributions: In Boole's system, variables represent logical propositions that take values 0 (false) or 1 (true).
Legacy: Boolean algebra influenced later logicians such as Charles Peirce and Ernst Schröder and became central
