Blarney
Blarney is a village in County Cork, Ireland, located about eight kilometres northwest of Cork City along the N20 road to Limerick. It is best known for Blarney Castle, a medieval tower house that dates to the 15th century. The fortress was built by Cormac Laidir MacCarthy, lord of Muskerry, and was subsequently expanded and renovated by later owners. The castle sits within the larger Blarney Estate, which includes gardens and woodland that are open to visitors.
