Biokatalizátorokként
Biokatalizátorokként is the Hungarian term for biocatalysts. Biocatalysts are substances produced by living organisms that accelerate chemical reactions. The most common and important biocatalysts are enzymes, which are protein molecules that facilitate specific biochemical processes. However, RNA molecules with catalytic activity, known as ribozymes, also function as biocatalysts. Biocatalysts are essential for virtually all biological processes, from metabolism and DNA replication to digestion and muscle contraction. They are highly specific, meaning each biocatalyst typically catalyzes only one or a very limited range of reactions. This specificity is crucial for the orderly functioning of living systems.
In industrial applications, biocatalysts are increasingly used as green and sustainable alternatives to traditional chemical catalysts.
