Betanzos

Betanzos is a town and municipality in the province of A Coruña, in the autonomous community of Galicia, Spain. It is the capital of the comarca of Betanzos and lies in the northwest of the country near the coast, at the mouth of the Mandeo River in the Ría de Betanzos. The town is located about 24 kilometers northeast of A Coruña.

The population is around 12,000 residents. Betanzos is known for its well-preserved historic center, which features a medieval street plan and a concentration of granite houses and traditional architecture. The town sits on elevated ground overlooking the estuary, contributing to its distinctive character and views.
