Bestman
Bestman refers to a male attendant chosen by a groom to stand by his side on his wedding day. Traditionally, the bestman is the groom's closest friend or brother, and his responsibilities are numerous and varied. He typically assists the groom with planning and preparations for the wedding, and often plays a key role in organizing the bachelor party. On the wedding day itself, the bestman is responsible for holding the wedding rings until they are needed during the ceremony, and may also be tasked with escorting the bridesmaids. He is also expected to give a speech at the reception, often a humorous and heartfelt tribute to the couple. Beyond these traditional duties, the bestman's primary role is to support the groom emotionally and practically throughout the entire wedding process. The term "bestman" is a direct translation from the English term "best man."
