Beeple

Beeple is the professional name of Mike Winkelmann, an American digital artist and graphic designer widely recognized for his daily digital art project and his prominence in the NFT market. Born in 1981, Winkelmann began creating a new digital image each day and sharing it online, a practice that continued for many years and produced a large catalog of work.

The Everydays project comprises thousands of 3D-rendered images that blend science fiction, dystopian imagery, and pop culture. The works are typically created with 3D software such as Cinema 4D and rendered with modern engines, often incorporating social commentary and satire. The project has contributed to broader discussions about digital art, ownership, and the potential of blockchain-based media, with individual pieces minted as NFTs.

In March 2021, Beeple’s NFT artwork Everydays: The First 5000 Days sold at Christie’s for about $69 million, a landmark sale that elevated NFT art into the mainstream and established Winkelmann as one of the most valuable living digital artists. The sale drew widespread media attention and sparked ongoing conversations about provenance, ownership, and the financial potential of digital artworks.

Beyond his personal artworks, Beeple has produced visuals for music videos, campaigns, and other media, operating under the Beeple brand and collaborating with various brands and institutions while continuing the Everydays practice.
