Bayesiaanlik is a term derived from the work of Reverend Thomas Bayes, an 18th-century British mathematician and theologian. It refers to a statistical approach that emphasizes the use of Bayes' theorem for updating probabilities as new evidence or information becomes available. This contrasts with frequentist statistics, which interprets probability as the long-run frequency of an event.

In Bayesian inference, probabilities are treated as degrees of belief.
