Bangteorien

Bangteorien, often translated as the Big Bang theory, is the prevailing cosmological model for the universe. It postulates that the universe began as a singularity, a point of infinite density and temperature, approximately 13.8 billion years ago. From this initial state, the universe underwent a rapid expansion and cooling.

Evidence supporting the Big Bang theory includes the observed expansion of the universe, as detected through the redshift of distant galaxies, indicating they are moving away from us. The cosmic microwave background radiation, a faint afterglow of the Big Bang, is another key piece of evidence. This uniform radiation permeating the universe is consistent with predictions made by the theory. Furthermore, the relative abundance of light elements like hydrogen and helium in the universe aligns with the nucleosynthesis that would have occurred in the early, hot stages of the Big Bang.

While the Big Bang theory describes the evolution of the universe from a very early hot, dense state, it does not explain what existed before the singularity or what triggered the initial expansion. These remain subjects of ongoing scientific inquiry and theoretical speculation within cosmology. The theory has been refined over time with contributions from various scientists, incorporating new observations and developing more sophisticated models of the universe's history.
