Afrika Bambaataa, born Kevin Donovan on August 19, 1957, in the Bronx, is an American DJ, rapper, and producer who helped shape the early hip hop movement in the South Bronx. A prominent community organizer, he became a leading figure in what would become hip hop culture and founded the Universal Zulu Nation, a movement promoting peace, unity, and having fun.
