BIP350, also known as BIP350, defines the new Bech32m address format. This format is a backwards-incompatible upgrade to the existing Bech32 address format. The primary advantage of Bech32m is its improved error detection capabilities, making it more robust against accidental typos. Addresses using the Bech32m format are designed to be easily distinguishable from older address formats, typically starting with "bc1p". The introduction of Bech32m ensures that users can correctly identify and interact with Taproot-enabled addresses, further enhancing the usability and security of Bitcoin transactions incorporating Taproot.
