An avtobus is a wheeled motor vehicle used for transporting passengers. It typically has a larger capacity than a car, carrying anywhere from ten to over eighty people depending on the size and configuration. Avtobuses are a common form of public transportation in cities and towns worldwide, providing a vital service for daily commutes, school runs, and intercity travel.

The design of an avtobus can vary significantly. Many are single-decker vehicles, while others are double-decker buses allowing for more passenger capacity on the same road footprint. Articulated buses, which consist of two or more rigid sections connected by a pivoting joint, are also used to increase passenger volume.
