Avihepadnavirus
Avihepadnavirus is a genus of viruses in the family Hepadnaviridae. These viruses primarily infect birds. The most well-known member of this genus is the avian hepatitis B virus, which can cause chronic liver disease in birds. Avihepadnaviruses share many characteristics with mammalian hepadnaviruses, including the hepatitis B virus (HBV) found in humans. They possess a partially double-stranded DNA genome and replicate through an RNA intermediate via reverse transcription.
