Autokorreloituun is a Finnish term that translates to "autocorrelated" in English. It refers to a situation where a sequence of data points is correlated with its own past values. This phenomenon is common in time series data, where the value of a variable at one point in time is influenced by its values at previous points in time. For example, stock prices, weather patterns, and economic indicators often exhibit autocorrelation.

Understanding autocorrelation is crucial in statistical modeling and data analysis. When data is autocorrelated, standard statistical assumptions, such as independence of observations, are violated.
