Austinis

Austinis is a genus of plants in the family Asteraceae. These plants are native to the Americas, found from the United States through South America. The genus was first described in 1841 by Constantine Samuel Rafinesque. The name Austinis honors the American botanist Constantine Samuel Rafinesque's friend, Austin.

Species within the Austinis genus are typically herbaceous annuals or perennials. They are characterized by their daisy-like flower heads, which usually consist of bright ray florets surrounding a central disk of tubular florets.
