Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, IATA AUS, ICAO KAUS, is the primary commercial airport serving the Austin metropolitan area in Texas. It is located about five miles southeast of downtown Austin in Travis County. The airport sits on the site of the former Bergstrom Air Force Base and was named to reflect that history.

The facility opened in 1999 as a replacement for Robert Mueller Municipal Airport and to provide a modern, international-capable airport for the growing region. The associated Bergstrom Air Force Base had been in operation for decades before its closure as part of defense realignment; the civilian airport inherited the name from the base.

Austin-Bergstrom operates with two terminals that house multiple concourses and gates, handling both domestic and international flights. It serves a range of major airlines and functions as a focus city for several carriers, with Southwest Airlines traditionally maintaining a large presence alongside American, Delta, United, JetBlue, Alaska, and others. The airport supports year-round service to numerous U.S. destinations and select international routes.

Facilities and services at AUS include on-site car rental, parking options, and a variety of dining and retail options. Ground transportation connections are provided by Capital Metro and other services, linking the airport with downtown Austin and surrounding areas. Road access is provided by regional highways, and ongoing modernization projects have expanded terminal capacity, improved airfield infrastructure, and enhanced passenger flow to accommodate growing demand.
