Audhumla
Audhumla is a primordial cow figure from Norse mythology. She is said to have emerged from the melting ice of Ginnungagap in the very beginning of creation. From her udders, Audhumla nourished the first giant, Ymir, with milk. She also licked the salty ice blocks, and from these lickings, the first god, Búri, was freed. Búri was the grandfather of Odin, Vili, and Vé, the gods who eventually slew Ymir and created the world from his body. Audhumla's role is significant as she is a source of sustenance and a key figure in the emergence of the gods. She is considered a maternal and life-giving entity within the Norse cosmology, existing before the establishment of the cosmos as known by later beings.
