Atmibsa

Atmibsa, also known as Mouse atelomeric BSA or Mouse atelomeric Serum Albumin, is a recombinant DNA construct used in molecular biology to express albumin, a major protein component of mammalian blood serum, in non-mammalian systems.

The Atmibsa construct is a rat-mouse chimeric albumin protein, designed to retain the therapeutic properties of human serum albumin while being more suitable for expression in insect cells or other cells that do not typically express mammalian proteins. The construct consists of the rat albumin gene fused to a mouse immunoglobulin signal peptide, allowing for efficient secretion of the recombinant protein into the culture medium.

Atmibsa has been used as a research tool to study protein secretion, purification, and characterization. It is also used as a cost-effective alternative to human serum albumin for various applications in biotechnology, such as protein purification, cell culture, and protein-based therapeutics.

Studies have shown that Atmibsa has similar functional properties to human serum albumin, including high affinity binding to warfarin and phenylbutazone, as well as maintaining structural stability in a wide range of temperatures and pH conditions.
