AstanaNurSultan

AstanaNurSultan refers to the capital city of Kazakhstan, which has undergone name changes. Initially founded as Akmolinsk in 1830, it was renamed Tselinograd in 1961. In 1997, it became Astana, the new capital of Kazakhstan. In March 2019, the city was renamed Nur-Sultan in honor of Nursultan Nazarbayev, the country's first president. However, in September 2022, the city's name reverted back to Astana. This frequent renaming reflects significant political and historical shifts within Kazakhstan.

The city is located in the north-central part of Kazakhstan, a vast steppe region. Astana is known for its modern architecture, characterized by futuristic skyscrapers and unique government buildings designed by international architects.
