Ashyis
Ashyis, also known as Ashyis the Younger, was a prominent figure in the ancient Near East, particularly during the reign of the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar II (605-562 BCE). He is primarily known for his role as a high-ranking official and his involvement in the administration of the Babylonian Empire. Ashyis held the position of governor of the province of Elam, which was located in modern-day southwestern Iran. In this capacity, he was responsible for the collection of taxes and the maintenance of law and order in the region.
