Asgarnia

Asgarnia is a fictional land that appears in the high‑fantasy series “Chronicles of the Seven Spheres.” Located on the southern coast of the continent of Eldoria, the kingdom is bordered by the Sapphire Sea to the west, the Misty Mountains to the east, and the Verdant Plains to the north. The capital city, Aerinth, sits on a hill overlooking the harbor and serves as the political and cultural center of Asgarnia.

The kingdom’s history dates back to the reign of King Aldric I, who united several smaller tribes in the late Second Age. Since then, Asgarnia has developed a tradition of maritime trade, particularly in rare minerals extracted from the Caverns of Liora. The economy also relies heavily on the cultivation of nightshade spices, which are exported to neighboring kingdoms.

Asgarnia is governed by a hereditary monarch who is advised by the Council of Elders, a body of senior nobles and appointed scholars. The monarchy maintains a standing army of the Royal Ashen Guard, tasked with defending borders and maintaining internal order. Legal matters are adjudicated by the Tribunal of Stone, whose decisions can be appealed to the royal court.

Culturally, Asgarnian society places great emphasis on honor, artistic expression, and scholarship. The Lyra Temple, a cathedral dedicated to the goddess of music, is a prominent architectural landmark. Annual festivals such as the Harvest Moon Parade celebrate agricultural abundance and naval prowess.

Notable figures include Queen Isolde II, known for her diplomatic acumen; Sir Caden Hawke, a legendary warrior who defended the kingdom against the Gorgon Tribes; and Arvelan the Scribe, whose chronicles provide the primary historical record of Asgarnia.
