Asetuviin

Asetuviin is a system of traditional Burmese architecture in Myanmar. The name "Asetuviin" translates to mean "screen window" in Burmese, which describes the primary function of these window screens. Asetuviin are a distinctive feature of traditional Burmese architecture, particularly in the design of homes and temples.

The Asetuviin system typically consists of two wooden frames, one for each side of the window. The frames are typically made of teak wood or other hardwoods and are decorated with intricate carvings. The frames are then fitted with a number of horizontal and vertical bars which are held in place by mortise and tenon joints. The screen itself is made up of a number of small, thin slats typically made of bamboo or rattan. These slats are evenly spaced and fitted into a series of small gaps between the bars of the frame.

Asetuviin serve several purposes. In traditional Burmese houses, the windows with Asetuviin screens were used to control airflow and filter out sun, dust, and other debris. They were also used to maintain privacy and to regulate the amount of natural light entering a room. The Asetuviin system has been in use for centuries and is still an integral part of traditional Burmese architecture today. As a result, many Burmese homes and temples feature these distinctive window screens as a way to stay true to traditional design and craftsmanship.
