Arvsdelning

Arvsdelning, or inheritance division, is the legal process of distributing the assets of a deceased person among their heirs. In many jurisdictions, this process is governed by specific laws that determine who is entitled to inherit and in what proportions. The primary document that guides arvsdelning is typically a will, where the deceased has outlined their wishes for their property. If no will exists, or if the will is deemed invalid, the distribution follows statutory rules of intestacy.

The process often involves identifying all assets, such as real estate, bank accounts, investments, and personal belongings, as well as any debts or liabilities of the deceased. A legal representative, often an executor appointed in the will or an administrator appointed by the court, is responsible for managing this process.
