Arvernian
Arvernian refers to anything relating to the Arverni, an ancient Gallic tribe that inhabited the central part of Gaul during the Iron Age and into the Roman era. The Arverni’s heartland lay in what is now the Auvergne region of central France, with influence extending into neighboring areas such as Berry and parts of Limousin. In the late Republic, the Arverni were among Gaul’s most powerful tribes and often acted as a leading confederation within Gaul, sometimes in alliance with or opposition to Rome.
