Artykuy

Artykuy is a small town in the northern Veridian highlands, Veridia. It lies in the Artyk River valley, about 75 kilometers northeast of the capital Nebara. The 2023 estimated population is around 9,200. Founded in the early 19th century by agrarian settlers, Artykuy developed as a market center and received municipal status in 1903.

The economy is primarily agricultural, with grain and vegetables, supplemented by dairy farming and light manufacturing in woodworking and textiles. The town is connected by a regional road network and a railway line between Nebara and Karin; Artykuy Station acts as a local transport hub.

Administration is handled by a municipal council led by a mayor. Artykuy belongs to Veridia’s northern regional district and provides services such as a secondary school, a health clinic, a library, and a market square.

Culturally, Artykuy hosts an annual harvest festival and has traditions of folk music and rye-based cuisine. Notable landmarks include Artykuy Station, a historic windmill, and St. Elena Church.
