Artikulatorike

Artikulatorike is a term that refers to the physical structures within the vocal tract responsible for producing speech sounds. These are the parts of the mouth, throat, and nasal cavity that can be manipulated to alter the airflow from the lungs and create distinct phonetic qualities. Key artikulatorike include the tongue, lips, teeth, alveolar ridge, hard palate, soft palate (velum), uvula, and pharynx.

The movement and interaction of these artikulatorike allow for the differentiation of consonants and vowels. For example, the tongue can be placed in various positions against or near different parts of the mouth to produce stops, fricatives, or nasals. The lips can be rounded, spread, or brought together to form sounds like /p/, /b/, or /w/. The soft palate's position is crucial for distinguishing between oral and nasal sounds; when lowered, air passes through the nose, creating sounds like /m/ and /n/.
