Artiklat
Artiklat is a term used in Filipino-language texts to refer to a joint or articulation in the musculoskeletal system. In anatomy, an artiklat is the point at which two or more bones connect, allowing movement and providing stability. Joints vary in structure and function and are commonly categorized by the type of tissue that binds them and the degree of movement they permit. For example, fibrous joints are immovable, cartilaginous joints allow limited movement, and synovial joints are the most movable, including hinge joints such as the elbow and knee and ball-and-socket joints such as the shoulder and hip. Supporting structures such as ligaments, tendons, and muscles stabilize artiklat and control motion.
In medical and clinical contexts, artiklat may also refer to the condition of the joint when movement
