Arctosauruss
Arctosaurus is a genus of theropod dinosaur that lived during the Late Jurassic period, approximately 155 to 145 million years ago. Its fossils have been discovered in the Morrison Formation of North America. The name Arctosaurus translates to "bear lizard," a reflection of its presumed robust build, though direct evidence of its appearance is limited. Arctosaurus is classified as a coelophysoid, a group of early theropods known for their primitive characteristics. However, its exact phylogenetic placement within Coelophysoidea is debated among paleontologists due to the fragmentary nature of the fossil remains.
The known fossil material of Arctosaurus consists primarily of isolated bones, including vertebrae and limb elements.
