Arabicscript

Arabicscript is a term used in linguistic and design contexts to refer to a hypothetical or proposed writing system intended to represent the Arabic language in a standardized, machine-readable form. It is not an officially adopted script in Unicode and does not exist as a widespread writing system in current usage.

In concept, Arabicscript would be a phonemic script with a finite inventory of graphemes corresponding to Arabic phonemes. The aim would be unambiguous transcription for linguistic analysis and computational processing. The design could situate Arabicscript as a right-to-left alphabet with independent glyphs, or as a set of characters whose shape encodes phonetic information while taking minimal contextual shaping. Diacritics would mark short vowels and other phonemic distinctions. The encoding would be designed for straightforward mapping to Unicode or other interoperable standards to facilitate data exchange and natural language processing, while optionally permitting transliteration to existing Arabic-script texts.

Usage and status: In academic contexts, Arabicscript is discussed as a theoretical construct for typography experiments, font engineering, and NLP research. In fictional or worldbuilding settings, it may serve as the emblematic script of a culture or institution. It is not part of the established Arabic script family and has no official typographic specifications beyond proposed concepts in scholarly or speculative works.
