Apokromaattiset, often referred to as apochromats, are a type of lens system designed to correct for chromatic aberration across three wavelengths of light. Standard achromatic lenses correct for two wavelengths, typically red and blue, by bringing them to the same focal point. However, this leaves other colors, such as green, with a slightly different focal point, leading to residual chromatic aberration. Apochromatic lenses go a step further by bringing red, green, and blue light to a common focus.
