Aortaliköregurgitasyon
Aortaliköregurgitasyon, also known as aortic regurgitation or aortic insufficiency, is a condition where the aortic valve does not close properly, allowing blood to leak back into the left ventricle from the aorta. This occurs during diastole, the relaxation phase of the heart. The aortic valve is a one-way valve situated between the aorta, the main artery carrying oxygenated blood from the heart, and the left ventricle, the heart's main pumping chamber. When the valve malfunctions, blood flows backward, increasing the workload on the left ventricle.
Common causes of aortaliköregurgitasyon include rheumatic fever, congenital bicuspid aortic valve, aortic root dilation, endocarditis, and
Diagnosis typically involves a physical examination to listen for characteristic murmurs, echocardiography (ultrasound of the heart)
