Antiextractivism

Antiextractivism is a socio-political and environmental movement that opposes the large-scale extraction of natural resources. This includes activities such as mining, oil and gas drilling, industrial agriculture, logging, and large-scale hydroelectric projects. The core tenet of antiextractivism is the belief that these extractive industries cause significant harm to ecosystems, biodiversity, and human communities, particularly Indigenous peoples and marginalized populations.
