Angkortérség
Angkortérség is a term used to refer to the geographical region surrounding Angkor, Cambodia, which was the center of the Khmer Empire. This vast area encompasses not only the famous Angkor Wat temple complex but also numerous other ancient temples, reservoirs, canals, and settlements that collectively represent the architectural and urban planning achievements of the Khmer civilization at its peak. The Angkortérség was the heart of a powerful empire that dominated much of Southeast Asia for centuries, from roughly the 9th to the 15th century.
The Angkortérség is characterized by its sophisticated hydraulic systems, including large barays (reservoirs) and intricate canal
