Angielski

Angielski is the Polish word for the English language and, more broadly, for things related to England or the English-speaking world. In Polish, angielski can function as a noun, as in uczę się angielskiego, or as an adjective describing origin or affiliation (angielska kultura, angielski alfabet). The standard label for the language in Polish is język angielski.

English is a West Germanic language that originated in early medieval England. It developed from Old English with considerable influence from Norse, Latin, and Norman French. It passed through Middle English and Early Modern English before reaching the contemporary varieties spoken worldwide. English is now widely used as a global lingua franca and has many standardized varieties, most notably British English and American English, alongside regional forms in dozens of countries.
